Ranch Takeover @ T-Post Tavern

One week ago, we hosted our first ever Ranch Takeover event at T-Post. This idea was born last summer as we were opening T-Post; I told Dan that I wanted to host our Ranch Crew subscribers for an evening of good food and fun, where we could express our gratitude to them. Of course, in the first months of opening a new business, any kind of extra events get pushed to the backburner, and you’re just focused on putting one foot in front of the other and getting from one day to the next. I didn’t forget though!

Over the coming months our Ranch Crew grew, and our ideas for a Ranch Takeover grew. Why wouldn’t host Ranch Crew members, but also invite the greater community to join in? How about a full buffet of our beef products & fixings at an affordable price? Two free drinks from the bar have to be included, right? Why not encourage families to come by offering entertainment for the kiddos? How about some exclusive deals on beef for anyone who attends? Door prizes, of course! The ideas kept growing, and we decided we better pin down a date on the calendar and stop daydreaming about this. I told Dan that if we had at least 50 people attend, I’d be thrilled. If it was a smaller group than that, we’d get to know everyone really well, develop some new relationships, and that’d be a win in itself.

We ended up having 175+ people in attendance last night. The energy in the room was outstanding as people were cheering on kids riding the mechanical bull, chowing down, winning prizes, and smiling away. I couldn’t be prouder of our small but mighty team that pulled everything off. We had only SIX team members working (that includes our kitchen team) and they never stopped moving for a moment. Of course like any first-time event, we had some lessons learned and a page of notes for adjustments to make for the next time. But guess what that page of notes means? There will be a next time!

Thank you so much for everyone who attended! And for those who weren’t able to, be on the lookout for a future event with even more to offer.

As I said in my wrap-up email to attendees, our ranch and restaurant are truly a labor of love, and it’s thanks to you that we get to do what we love on a daily basis.
